A strike against laziness!

First I must apologize for my lack of updates. Life has the tendency to get ahead of us. But, now that I think about it, I really had multiple opportunities to write/update my blog, but I chose to do other things. And the lack of such was mostly due to laziness. I hereby go on strike from laziness! I plan on updating the blog at least weekly. There are a number of projects I have made progress on, so I ought to start posting demos.
I have put about 80-90 hours into programming on my most recent project "Project Infinitus". Well, a 2D version of it anyway. Making a 2D version has really helped me to flush out a lot of the idea's I have had. Though, I am cutting a number of features from the project that I am saving for the full 3D version I dream of creating professionally... some day. Soon I will post a small "tech-demo" of the game.

Current Progress:
Sprites-.01% (using place-holders for now).
Sound Effects-1%
Battle System Framework-74%
Skill System-3%
Free Mode/Story System-30%

So it obviously has a long way to go, but I recently got some help so hopefully the process will be sped up significantly.

Which cell phone to develop for...

I have been wanting to convert some of my old game maker games to cell phone games for a while and have done quite a bit of research on what to develop for. Initially I was going to rewrite my games in java for sprint phones. The SDK (software development kit) was free after all. That is free, unless you wanted to take advantage of just about any of the features in the phones besides the keypad. Then I decided I wanted to take advantage of touch screens. Blackberry had a free SKD, but it was awful to work with.
Actually, now that I think about it, the initial idea of converting/rewriting my games for cell phones was from hearing how lucrative it is to create apps for the iPhone and iPod touch. But acquiring the SDK for it apparently is outside of my current budget, and has been for a while. So I needed to start with something cheaper. *shakes his fist at att* That's not the first time att has caused problems. Okay so its probably more an apple issue than an att issue, but anydangway...
So I still haven't come to a conclusion. Blackberry's development tools and developer support make me sick to my stomach... really. I really want to take advantage of touch screens so the simple java based phones are out. iPhone development is just going to have to wait, cause I can't afford the SDK and other fees at the moment. If anyone has some suggestions please leave some comments.

My First Blog

Ahh... my first blog. Where to start? I consider myself a beginner, though I have been making games just for fun for many years. I am currently working on a numerous projects from cell phone games to an Xbox 360 arcade game. I will post projects as I complete demos and the like. Soon I will be posting a link to the windows version of a game that I made a while back and am slowly converting to work on cell phones. Until then, adieu!
